I’m having a problem with my 416AC. It won’t stay on.

After powering on, the LED is steady green. After several seconds it very briefly flashes red once, then back to steady green. After several more seconds it powers down. I hooked up a display to watch the console, but nothing stood out. Very shortly after displaying the shell prompt, console messages indicated it had started shutting down.

Roughly about 1 in 10 times it will stay on and functional. I checked /var/logs, and the only logs recently modified were daemon.log, syslog, auth.log, lastlog, and wtmp. Nothing in syslog or daemon.log looked unusual.

    Please, any suggestions for troubleshooting?

    Thanks,
    Scott

The Centipede is programmed to power down automatically unless the power button is held for at least 10 seconds. If you stop holding it down just because the green LED is showing, that is not long enough.

No, this was much later, when the Centipede would normally become available and the indicator would switch to flashing red/yellow.

I finally did find the fix. Apparently I had downloaded firmware updates but never installed them. I haven’t encountered the problem since updating all boards.
