After more than a year of development, we have finally released software version 1.50. See the Downloads/Software Updates page to download a copy of this new version. This release improves on version 1.40 by adding features and fixing bugs. We encourage all our customers to upgrade to this new version. Details of the specific changes are on the Update page. Being a new version, there certainly could still be bugs. If you find any, or have suggestions or comments, please write us.

We are excited to announce the availability of software version 1.40. See the Downloads/Software Updates page to download a copy of this new version. This upgrade was more than a year is creating, and we want to thank those of you who assisted in suggestion, ideas, and testing the new code. The biggest changes involve adding a new capability called “SESSIONS” which is a complete rewrite of the previous Sequencer feature. Also updated is the Jukebox and code to support a new (not yet available) pod we call the sensor pod. Stay tuned for more details.
Being a new version, there certainly could still be bugs and we know that more improvements need to be made. For example, the sequencer guide is currently being updated to reflect the changes. But we now feel the code is mature enough to make a general release. We write us with any suggestions or comments.

We are excited to announce the availability of BETA software version 1.35. See the pre-release page to download a copy of this new version. We especially like the new SIGNAL button that enables the operator to interrupt a sequencer script that is already running. See the Owners Manual or the sample script, pillory.txt for more details.

We are excited to announce the availability of BETA software version 1.31. See the pre-release page to download a copy of this new version. We especially like the new UP/DOWN buttons that make it much easier to get the exact setting that you want on each slider. Use the slider as before to make large value changes, but then switch to the UP/DOWN buttons to fine tune your setting.

Great news! The wait is over. Our newest product, the Centipede 216 Power Box is now available for purchase. Our design team has been busy creating a completely new way to power and control eStim. We think this new box will open up a whole new set of options for the community to consider. The new box is a modern, clean, and a new approach that many will find fits their needs and budget. Great news! Our design team has been busy creating a new version of the main circuit board, replacing “thru-hole” parts with “surface-mount” equivalents. This means that we have been able to reduce our selling price, making our products more affordable. Pricing has already been adjusted at Current Pleasures, so if you have been waiting for the right time to start enjoying the next generation of eStim, now is the time.

The Regulator Pod is now available for sale and Version 1.25 is available for download, now that testing has been completed.
As previously posted, the new version adds support for the Regulator Pod. The Regulator pod enables the 416 to control devices that run on 120 VAC, such as room lighting and vibrators like the Hitachi wand. It has two independent channels and operates like a wall mounted light dimmer. So not only can devices be turned on and off, but can be adjusted as to speed or brightness as appropriate. The pod offers various patterns of output chosen via the web page, just like other pods.
The new version of the Sequencer adds a new way to select random choices. The GOTO verb has been enhanced to allow you to specify more than one destination. The Sequencer will randomly pick one of the choices, adding uncertainty to the results.

Version 1.25 will soon be released. This version adds a feature to the Power Microprocessor’s firmware to repair/restore a battery that has been discharged so completely, that the Centipede 416 will not even power up. Note that level of discharge would not happen if you follow the advice in the owner’s manual, but this feature may help someone who didn’t.

Version 1.20 has been released. This version makes major improvements to the process of updating the Centipede microprocessors. In addition to the main processors, the Centipede 416 contains at least three microprocessors. These processors add to the compute power of the device and also contribute to its ability to be upgraded. Each pod that is added, includes at least one microprocessor.
The code inside these smaller processors is generally referred to as FIRMWARE, and just like software, it will need to be updated from time to time as new features are added to the system. The process of upgrading Firmware is referred to as Flashing.

Version 1.08 has been released – twice! The first copy published was not “bug-free”, so we re-released it with the bug having been squashed (thank you Randy!). The change from Version 1.07 was mostly a rewrite of the Sequencer, which was becoming a bit clunky having added so many new features to it recently and additional functionality to support the relay pod. Anyway, I think we need to add a BETA program to our release system. So the plan is to offer BETA copies of new versions to anyone who wants the bleeding-edge code. Look for BETA versions in the download area from time to time. And if you want, become a Beta tester by simply downloading and using the new code and reporting any bugs found.

Sometimes it is good to be kinky and geeky. We are excited to announce the release of version 1.07. This version adds three new verb to the Sequencer, which are designed to control a web enabled device. What these new features do, is let you open a web page on that other device, and send it controls either via HTML get or post requests. For many “Internet of Things” devices, this will let you control those devices from the sequencer. While we realize using these features may be beyond the reach of most of our customers, for those who can put them to use, it will be amazing what they will be able to do. See the owners manual for details on the OPEN, POST and CLOSE verbs for more details.

We are excited to announce that eStim pods will be available for purchase from Current Pleasures within days of this announcement. Each eStim pod adds two additional outputs to your system. And the added outputs have all the capabilities of the built-in eStim outputs. The Centipede power boxes are designed to support the connection of up to 13 pods, which in the maximum configuration would provide 30 simultaneous outputs. What an amazing ‘ride’ that would be with stimulation to so many places on your body!

Announcing the release of version 1.05 of the Centipede 416 / 416-AC software. This upgrade installs in less than a minute, but please note that you MUST upgrade to version 1.04 before installing this one. Version 1.05 adds sliders to control the volume of music and speech, as well as adding support for a USB audio adapter. These adapters are available for less than $10 from Amazon, and improve the playback audio and increase the available playback level. Here is an adapter we have used that works well. In version 1.05, you can switch back and forth between the build in audio jack and the USB adapter by using the OPTIONS web page. Note, the sliders for left and right volume can only be controlled separately (IE un-linked) when using the USB adapter. Also note, the text-to-speech feature is incompatible with the USB adapter.
So consider using a USB adapter when the Centipede is playing music for listening or providing signals for an audio based eStim device, for example, the BTstim 4channel.

The Centipede product line was well received at TES-FEST, NJ this past weekend. We can judge this by the downloads of our user manual and the subsequent sales. Anticipating this, we have built up our inventory of units and parts to a comfortable level. While doing that we have also been busy developing new devices to add to the Centipede family. Nothing to announce yet, but stay tuned, there is lots more to come.

Announcing the release of version 1.04 of the Centipede 416 / 416-AC software. This upgrade installs in less than a minute and adds a new feature to control SSH/SFTP. SSH/SFTP are programs within the Centipede computer that allow you (or someone else) to connect and make changes to your system software. They are very powerful features, but mostly useful to programmers (and hackers!), so unless you are using them, we advise you disable them. This new version makes it easy for you to do that. Just go to the options page after installing to set the new option the way you want.

Announcing the Centipede 416-AC. This new product has all the wave forms and features of the original Centipede, but is offered at a reduced price. The only difference is that the AC version contains no battery. In fact it is so identical that it uses the exact same software package as the battery containing version. This new version will be suitable for cases where portability and battery backup is not needed. By removing the battery and associated electronics, we are able to produce the unit for a lower cost, and pass those savings on to our customers. We have both the original Centipede 416 as well as the AC version in stock as I write this note, so order with confidence.

Announcing the release of version 1.03 of Centipede 416 software. This is a minor release that improves and changes the battery image displayed on the web page. Different images are used as a guide of the battery charge state, and this new version displays images that more accurately depict the current state of the battery’s charge. To install, simply download the update file, and install it using the Software Updates web page. The changes will take affect as soon as you reload the web page, there is no need to reboot if you are upgrading from version 1.02.

One feature that sets Centipede 416 apart is its capacity to host multiple players. With Centipede 416, you can invite 1, 2, or more people to interact over the global internet, in an electrical play session. You can control, or be controlled by them. Yet this versatility increases your need for user security. We have just released Version 1.02 of the Centipede 416 software. This is a major upgrade for optionally requiring a guest’s username and password to connect.

We have been busy on the next production batch of boxes. Production is going well, with just the typical delay of parts at times. We are now interviewing to add an additional person to our staff to help build boxes. Ideally we want to have stock available, on the shelf for immediate delivery, but we are not quite there yet. We have also almost finished the design of the next pod which will be able top control 12 volt relays. Stay tuned, we will post more details soon.

Now that the Centipede 416 is shipping, it’s time to get the various PODs updated. First up are the eStim PODs which are now in stock and ready for immediate shipment. It might be a bit early to start offering them for sale, since we just started shipping the Centipede 416 about a week ago. We are finally selling the Centipede 416. After two long years of development, this product is ready to for market. The first unveiling was at Frolicon in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago, and the response was amazing. We thank everyone who gave us ideas and suggestions along the way, especially the Fetlife members who joined in the discussion thread.
